Before selecting our program, please take the following into consideration:

Our environment is child-led and nature-based. We do not operate as a traditional institution but rather as a homeschool assistance program. While academics are an integral part of our curriculum, we do not adhere strictly to state guidelines or timelines. Instead, our primary focus is on teaching your children the fundamentals of life and fostering a love for community and learning.

We believe that modern society has shaped unrealistic expectations for what education should entail, often pressuring parents to prioritize academic standards over the well-being and personal growth of their children. At Barefoot Barn Nature School, our goal is to provide children with the time and space they need to flourish and simply be kids. We do not produce daily reports, progress reports, or grades, as we believe that school should be a time for children to develop their own personal growth and create an environment that feels uniquely theirs.

Our program is rooted in the Waldorf and Reggio Emilia philosophies, which prioritize hands-on learning and play. We provide children with the freedom of choice, movement, and ample outdoor time. Our students have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities, from playing in the mud, rain, sun, and water to practicing yoga, dancing, creating, exploring, and embracing barefoot adventures.
